Hi there

Post by Idyll lane on 7th October 2010, 13:59

I am quite excited to be a member of the club Very Happy Thanks for accepting me! I too am a fellow Rose lover and abit tooo passionate about my roses. I have finally named my home yesterday, Idyll Lane and picked my my Awesome Sign "its AWESOME (if any of you are Sara Douglass lovers you will cotton on to the name), so hence the house has been christened! I am a David Austin lover and try as i might to collect new and beautiful blooms. I have over 80 Austins with 4 new additions added only yesterday. Once my new area has started to bloom i will post some pics. My new area has 6 Alnwicks 8 heritage (thats the path going down to the gazebo) with strawberry hills on either side (they never stop flowering) and of course the trusted old Mutablis as my back drop.
I am a mother of 2 fantastic young people, my son is 18 and my daughter is nearly 16.
So once again Thanks! Wrapped to be here.

Hi again everyone, thanks for the lovely welcome!
For you guys who are unsure where Collie is, its a beautiful little town in WA, downsouth.
We have freezing winters and fantastic hot summers. Unfortunatly this years Winter we have had no rain, which is terrible for us here as we normally have wet winters. But,,,,, the roses will need more sheep poo and Pea straw than normal! thats the beauty about Austins, they never fail to delight you!!
