Potting On Rose Seedlings .

Post by OzRose on 28th July 2010, 4:59 pm

Hi all . Just asking about potting on rose seedlings . Does anyone have a preferred time/stage to do it . I have this pot of 4 seedlings from an OP Soaring Spirits hip . One is still at the seedling leaf stage but the others have their true leaves now. I am thinking about potting the larger ones now ; just wondering if this is too premature or over due .

cheers. Rosalie.

Any time now is good. I've done it at cotyledon stage and that stage and later without any troubles. Those four will, however, be happy in ther for some time yet though.

I'm with Simon, but prefer it to do at the cotyledon stage , esp. when the seedlings are close together.

Note: Paul barden advised me, however, that rose seedlings with wichurana blood are best left till they are older or not touched at all.
