Ok... we're going to need more information than this... how big are the flowers? How big is the plant? Where is it growing? Does it repeat? What's the plant like (i.e. shrub, climber, groundcover, etc), is there a perfume, how thorny is it? Does it form hips? Can we get any other photos such as buds, leaves, thorns, etc, etc, etc, etc. From the photos they could be two different roses. If the leaves in the bottom photo belong to the flower in it too then they look very Rosa laevigata ish but the top flower loooks nothing like it

A quick update on this rose, it was planted as cutting and grew to large for the owner Luzy(I have her permission to speak on this matter). It was dug up by her husband on the weekend in Melb, it will be kept till Sat and then relocated to Geelong. Then it will be divided into 2, 1 of which I will pick up in Sept and return to Mudgee. There are pictures of all the aspects a rose hunter needs to ID it is coming to me and then I will post them from here for the help. If possible Margaret, do you go to Rustons often, wondered if they could ID it (David) if he was there. I might try Treloars for more help and other nursuries. Might even send to Mr David Austin

Not a rugosa, by the leaves. Is it flowering now - does it repeat? The curled-over petaloids made me think of Silver Moon, which is a spring-flowering climbing monster, with big flowers. The second photo doesn't have enough petals though. I've posted a photo on helpmefind.
I'll be at Ruston's for a working bee mid-August, and possibly also some time in July.

There are about 589 roses that look like that. Smile
Really, we need much more info about it. Bloom itself is not enough.

I have all the pictures of this lost sole in my computer, I only have to work out how to get her/him out. Don't rush Simon, whilst on holiday's in Victoria I am picking up half the plant and returning home with it. One of the lovely Victorians I am meeting up with WAS the owner of it. Between some of us we will get the pictures on here in all of it's glory, thorns and all for posssible ID.
