Golden Dawn Climbing Wanted

Post by Ozeboy on 14th May 2010, 09:41

Could anyone help with Golden Dawn Climbing cuttings preferably suitable for budwood.

It's too late this Autumn as most areas have been frost effected but would like this next October.

I've always been interested in that one, too, but heaven knows where you would get it now. Not even Thomas in SA lists it and they have stuff no one else does.

Hi Meryl, I tried Thomas but he has very little due to what he calls a
" 5 year drought "
Here in outer Sydney a 5 acre block without a large dam is not worth farming, metropolitan water is so expensive.

Bruce, Ruston's don't have it do they, or would David know who might have it. I went to HMF and noticed that there are 3 of them registered, I assume you want the Aussie one.

In Dianne Ackland's book, Golden Vale was the only nursery stocking it (but that was 1996). Their phone no is or was 0357 621 520.

Hi,
Golden Vale is my rose nursery of choice but they've been hit extremely hard by the drought over the past years. I've always found them very co-operative and helpful.

Hello David, Rustons do not list it in their catalogue but will order it next spring anyway and see what happens.

Barbara B I phoned them and they mentioned the drought and lack of roses for sale.

Thank you both for your suggestions and will see what happens next spring.
