Real nice photos, Damo ! Interesting to see what the Ita Buttrose looks like. I want it now ! Sundowner and City of Goulburn looks good too. The bed of Imortal Juno looks pretty. I looked into a Golden Showers the other day in Lynette's garden and I was glad I looked, also had a nice fragrance I think.
I use to live not far out of Goulburn about fourteen years ago ( wow, how time passes ). I wonder how old this Goulburn garden is, do you know ?
Do you live near Goulburn, Damo ? Thanks for posting your wonderful photos of this great garden.

G'day Karen!

'Ita Buttrose' shocked me today...it was without doubt the star of the show IMO. Absolutely beautiful! love

I think the garden was established around 1990 but I could be wrong! I will find out!

I'm pleased you enjoyed the photos Karen...this garden is a credit to all those who tend it! Smile

I am not entirely sure what the following roses are!

Maybe 'Headliner'?

I lived on a property at Windellema for almost two years and we use to shop at Goulburn once a week, but I didn't really explore Goulburn. I was just starting to grow some minature roses then. We had some friends not far out of Crookwell, on a sheep property.
About 4 years before that I had been down and out myself having got mixed up with a violent partner that I though I loved. The Salvation Army in Hobart, a Women's hostel in Launceston, a job on a sheep and cattle property in Westbury, and some friends in Sorell got me back on the right track.
I like your like your Baronne Edmond de Rothschild photo alot, also your Big John ( I haven't heard of this one ), the maybe Headliner and the unnamed dark velvety red one.

I looked at property out that way Karen...it's nice out there! I used to go swimming at Oallen Ford & I think that is out that way too but I could be wrong?!?

What doesn't kill us makes us stronger hey? Wink I have no doubt you are safe & happy now & to be surrounded by roses...well...that's just icing on the cake IMO!!!

We nearly bought a property at Talong... Wouldn't have been much good for roses.. but great for growing natives Smile Damian.. I know the name of the last one... or at least I did... it will come back to me... leave it with me LOL

Regarding 'Big John', it doesn't seem to be an overly healthy rose at Goulburn. It always seems to have BS or be nearly nude because of it! The only other rose I think does especially poorly (BS-wise) at Goulburn is 'Regensberg'...

I suspect that 'Big John' might get sprayed more heavily than the other roses in the garden because the 2 'City of Goulburn' roses closest to it look as though they have been poisoned! I cannot think of what else could/would do this:

I was thinking that last rose might be 'Fruite' but I'm not sure!

The house we looked at was alos in Talong Park Estate... only reason we didn't was cause we lost our nerve about living in a gated community... was just a little too wrong for my liking... which is a pity cos I liked the house and the spot.

My nephew loved visiting Tallong Park Estate. He enjoyed the indoor pool & going for a walk at night to look at the wombats! LOL
