Governor Macquarie or 100 Not Out are my choices, if I have to split then, GM wins just.

One of the two roses registered by Bruce Chapman in 2014 was Flying Doctor 03 a cause rose supporting the Royal Flying Doctor Service an organization in which his wife Joyce has been involved in over many years. A classical orange-red floribunda bred in 2003 Flying Doctor is a floribunda well above average.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

During week  a reliable source informed me that Amazing Grace (Chapman) has been Ross Roses biggest seller for the last four years. A white exhibition hybrid tea rose with fragrance there are a number rosarians who believe the rose is in the same class as the highly rated white exotic roses Pope John Paul II, Tineke and Memoire.

I also found the roses Flying Doctor 03(Chapman) and Royal Flying Doctor(Chapman) as listed in Help Me Find are the same rose.

Morning Doug, we have just come back from the B shop, they have  100 Not Out for sale at $25.98. It was in average health in a pot. Nothing that a good home would not fix like a lot of thier potted roses.

When you come down for the Plant Fair at Hawkesbury Racecourse I hope to coax you off the fence and you become the proud owner of a quality Australian bred rose.

I have given 100 Not Out the health test. It has been planted in a paddock full of 3' high Paspalum, plenty of Curl Grubs, without water except from the elements and totally forgotten until someone mentioned they are being sold for $25. This gentle reminder has made me dig it up and give it some TLC.
Health wise, it's a stand out for a garden rose. Ausrose mentioned great success some exhibitors are having at the shows.
Well done Richard Walsh.

100 Not Out (Walsh) is proving to be a very hardy rose and as disease free as any rose in my garden. On the show bench it has one success to date this being the Grand Champion at the NBM&H Regional Rose Show and although one swallow doesn't make a summer the win showed when shown by a champion exhibitor the rose can be a standout. It will be interesting to see how it performs in the three rose shows of the Sydney Royal Easter Show. My prediction is it will hold its own.
A Walsh rose I have a high regard for is the floribunda Tahlia that I believe has the potential to do well on the show bench if some of the top exhibitors take it on board.
The rather sickly specimen of Tahlia I spoke of earlier in this thread has recovered due to some TLC and I am looking forward to it having flowers in the not to distant future.

Ausrose, who were the people that had a vote?
Was point scoring allocated on exhibition or a trial garden basis? Sorry for the questions, just curious.
Have grown 100 Not Out and heard a lot about Flemington Race Course need for heavy spraying to keep it at it's best for the big race day in November.

It was by popular vote of a randomly selected Australian bred rose enthusiasts. No specific criteria was set however all aspects of the rose were on the table.

Personally I have grown Flemington Racecourse(Chapman) for about eight years and I have found it doesn't require extra spraying for me to get it ready for the show bench.

In 2005 the exotic floribunda Daybreaker was awarded a gold medal in the National Trial Garden and according to my observations over four years in my garden comparatively Flemington Racecourse performs just as well.

With respect to 100 Not Out it is relatively new in my garden and is definitely showing a great deal of promise and in time I predict will rank as one of the very good Australian bred roses with Australian bred roses Amazing Grace(Chapman), Lorraine Lee(Clark) and Our Rosamund(Bell) to mention a few.

This is Tahlia (Walsh) that was so sick a number of weeks back. At the time for those who can remember I felt even Dr Christian Barnard couldn't revive it but I would give it a go. Well here is proof for all to see Dr Ausrose did revive it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The photo is taken in Paul's garden in Queensland.

The photo is taken under a tree and buffalo grass just doesn't grow in the shade despite all the claims

Looks to have good form for exhibition. Nice clear pink but will it thrive and stay healthy for garden use?

Please excuse my constant questions re spraying as I used to be a stone fruit orchardist. The system was to treat with Dak Pots, then splash bait and then spray the fruit every 10 days. When a neighbour who was not sufficiently covered enough went green all over and died. He stepped in front of an ambulance due to him not having all his senses working well. I then gave up fruit and pulled the lot out. That's the reason why I'm not into exhibition roses or any that need spraying. Sprays have become more user friendly though I'm not going to take any further risks.

Bruce I agree with you spraying isn't the ideal and at the moment I am experimenting with a system that may eliminate spraying to a greater degree.

Ausrose, if you intend to get this rose, will be interested to see how well it does. I am not keen on spraying, I have minor problems in white spot, nothing much else, so any rose that requires little spraying is of interest.
Quick question, I can't seem to keep my Red Intuition under 8ft, how far can I cut it down during the summer months?
