Possible AC rose... ID pics

Post by Simon on 12th August 2009, 8:30 pm

I received an email from Dave today, with three photographs attached of possible AC rose found growing in a neglected (but original) garden in Toronto, in NSW on Lake Macquarie. Here is part of the content of the email:

This rose is growing as a hedge in Toronto NSW. Only 4 very neglected plants remain. The garden is in original, but very overgrown condition.

I asked the owner for budwood and have a couple of healthy plants. She said the roses go back a long way.

Judy from Mistydowns, the Tea Ladies and Susan Irvine all said "possible AC" when I showed them detailed pics of the rose, and said to send it to John Nieuwesteeg, which I plan to do.

Here are the three photos:

If anyone has any clues as to a possible identity Dave and Sandie would love to hear from you.

Simon
