Rosemeadow, new poles and arches.
Actually they are second hand poles I got from the tips around here for $1 each. They are not in very deep, but hopfully enough for the weight of the roses as they grow. I also put in another 9 arches.
The first photo is of my new garden up the back of the Heritage section of my garden. In this one there will be Ramblers on the surounding poles, also Species, Alister Clarks and Albas. Inside will be more Teas, Heritage and David Austin roses. In the last photo it shows a arch leading into this garden and I have planted a hedge either side of the arch that will lead you into this garden, tea roses being to the right. Also to the right where the seats are I will put two more arches to go over our table and seats or build something there with poles and lattice or whatever.
The 5th photo shows a area where I will have my Noisette's surounding another garden room of Minatures, Florribundas and Hybred Teas. This use to be our vegetable which will be moved down to near the hot house the year after. This year and into the next I will be just cocentrating on keeping the water for my new roses and baby own roots to keep them alive.
The black pots are where I have planted my ownroot roses I grew last summer. Its just to keep them protected from Winter and Kangaroos a bit.

Re: Rosemeadow, new poles and arches.
Thanks Simon, I didn't think anyone would see this until tomorrow.
The Rosamundi I had to move because it had been mistakenly planted in the wrong row, well it split up into 21 plants. I hope they all survive that is. Now I know why they make hedges out of this rose( I saw one hedge anyway, in a book ).
I gave the 21st plant back to Lynette as I originately got the cutting it grew from, at Lynette's rose garden. Hers had since died. I was too greedy to give anymore more than this back as I wanted the other 20 pieces for my hedge, which just struck me might be good, as I dug it up.
Hi Bemo. Thanks. Yeh or the rose cemetary if we don't get enough rain this Summer, which they are saying might happen. I will be raking all the grass up I can for mulch.
My partner doesn't like all the poles, but I am hoping it will work in lifting up my roses and creating a pretty rose garden with enclosed garden rooms full of frangrance and beauty like I experienced 7 years ago in Jenny's garden at Canowindra.
The arches arn't perfct but I hope the roses cover that up latter. I have done some of them different heights to give a different effect and have different layers of colours. The same with the poles being different heights, thats how they were and I think it might be good once the poles are covered to have the different heights of colour or greenery.

Karen that is one Serious Rose Garden! It will look fantastic when it matures. By then your partner will not be able to see a single pole.

Re: Rosemeadow, new poles and arches.
Hi Abbi !
I have three boxes of roses to plant . Was starting on the first box yesterday when at school my daughter broke her upper right arm, so we spent last night in the hospital after her operation. I will start planting in ernest tomorrow. The buds on the roses here are starting to shoot leaves now.
Also the new transformer going to my satelite box just stopped working last Friday, so I have been waitting on the replacement till today. So I never got to read your comment till today.

Hi Orchard40 !
Yes my daughter was cursing what has happened to her when she was trying to get to sleep in bed last night. She ended up proped up on the lounge and slept there.
I planted some very nice, more recently bred, Hybred Teas and 2 climbers today. Also a few older forribundas and a David Austin. It will be very excitting to see how they grow. Tomorrow I still have some more Hybred Teas and minatures to plant. That will be the Treloar order done and then I can start on the Mistydown roses, lots of Heritage roses- yeh !

Re: Rosemeadow, new poles and arches.
I very much wanted to see Karen's new garden arrangements but on my screen all the pix have been replaced with an announcement that "This image or video has been moved or deleted: photobucket". I am sure there is an explanation for this somewhere on this vast site but I haven't found it yet. Is there any way to view Karen's pictures now?
