Sorry about all the photos. our garden looks well beyond what we thought it would. We now have the worry of keeping it up to the standard.

Remember all, if you are on the Sunshine Coast let us know

Gary there is nothing wrong with your garden. You will have to retire or employ a gardener.

Thank you Gary for a lovely morning and so freely sharing your extensive knowledge. The pictures only tell part of the story because this garden is truly magical and very, very beautiful. You and your lovely wife were so welcoming and generous, allowing us to trample through your garden all morning. Such an exquisite example of a sub-tropical rose garden. A great morning, (and thank you for the roses all 'safely' tucked into their beds).

Thanks. It is heaven walking around the garden first thing in the morning. I only work two days a week and I have been late both days this week because of my "walks".

David

Rose Hedge Cottage Pink ROR is quite a nice rose. We have several that have all come from the one cutting that I received from Cree. It was originally found in an old garden in Western Australia but it is unknown to what it actually is. The latest suspect is 'Rose d'Evian' and is also know as Mrs Val Nash. There has been some conjecture that it maybe Lady Mann (Sport of Lorraine Lee) but we have both in our garden and they are definitely not the same rose.

Our biggest is 3 metres diameter and 2 metres high. It was larger but we cut it right back (and I mean right back) in winter 2014 after being about 4 metres diameter and 2.5 high.

It gets covered in flowers and up here it is rarely without them even given flushes in the middle of winter. The colour can vary depending on the wether but ours are usually mid to light pink. One of the plants that is growing in less sun is a bit darker.

It does not appear to be worried by black spot and we had a very small amount of mildew on one that was surrounded by other plants that were covered in it so it seems to be pretty resilient to these nasties. It is self clearing so far as the old flowers go and it does appear to produce hips so I am going to try so OPs from her.

Its a good rose but you need some room for her to grow.

Gary, once again I'm just left speechless by the utter beauty of your garden. You must be proud to have created such a masterpiece. All that work has been worth it.
One problem though....I now have a serious case of rose envy!

Easily treated. Just take your favourite nursery catalogue........and there you have it. A beautiful rose flowering away amongst your other plants.

See easy. Mind you I left the hard bits out. It's too early in the morning and too nice a day to worry about those bits.
