So close!

The statement relates to the belief liberals are rich.

Coming off the ship wasn't the first time I made the statement I had previously made it as the AQ and I alighted from an aeroplane after travelling first class from Hobart to Sydney.

Clue:- one of the missing words is "why"

As we will not be here at 6pm as we have to rub shoulders with the Blue Bloods, the rich(Liberal) and famous at a movie premier focused around grapes.
So can we have the announcement early to see that I have won.

Nope. No special treatment. You'll just have to wait like the rest of us plebs.

The winner is yet to be announced. He/She will receive a bush of 100 Not Out (Walsh) in one of two ways either sent as a bare rooted rose in May 2015 or picked  from 25 Forbes St Emu Plains as a potted rose when convenient.

If you examine all the clues there are only two answers that could possibly be correct.

David you are right coming out of left field however not the money ball.

Clue: if you use the abbreviation of I am as one word I'm there are seven words in my statement.

Words to date are:- Liberal, know, now,

This is truly wonderful. I NEVER win anything.

Yet in fairness I have to yield my pink prize to the valiant David and Carole, because God loves a trier ...
Or to Balinbear, because God also loves acid wit.

It is funny how some people win a lot and yet others win little. Take for instance poker machines in the Ausrose household. I very rarely win anything and haven't played them for years yet the AQ has a strike rate I wouldn't believe if I hadn't seen it.

An interesting exercise and congratulations to all those who took part. A special mention should go to our fearless leader David as his contributions certainly injected interest in the thread - something he does on a regular basis.

As I wrote as things progressed many of the statements were absolutely brilliant. The one that struck a cord with me was "You know liberals turn back the cruise boats" I'm sure some of my fellow Liberals will appreciate the sense of humour it showed.
On reflection I am not surprised at the result as betsy is a Hunter Valleyian and they are very smart.

Why, thank you, Comrade Cool Wink

i suspect you made your assessment of HV smarts based on your acquaintances among the vignerons or the thoroughbred breeders. The Valley folk generally are astoundingly stupid. Or perhaps stupified. Too much beer and coal dust, perhaps. I've only been here six years, and already I'm dumbing down myself ;-)

Yes, yes. I yield the win to Balinbear. The SMH should make a political cartoon using that line.

I'm the same except with my sisters. One has won several 5 figure jackpots and the other has won a car. Neither spend much on them. I might win $12 on lotto once a year but that's about it. Never won anything on a the pokies.

Doug, you would be shocked I think. And despondent. Pour yourself a tall Scotch or whatever you favour, and look through the NSW school rankings. The Valley and areas close by are at the bottom of the State heap. From what i can tell, it's not the clicheedToday's Evil Children. It's generational now. Grandparents and parents, all caught in a web of illiteracy and mind-boggling ignorance. I'm not just talking the layer upon layer of welfare families, but also those who make extremely good money in the mines, and in construction. The old school and well-schooled squattocracy are hardly visible any more. It's a crumbling, inwardly collapsing social system up here now - and I'm a ratbag Trotskyite Revisionist LOL! so I am not talking "class".

Oh look, okay David, I'll save you the energy ;-)))
