New member - Helen

Post by Kinhel on 2nd May 2014, 11:19

G'day everyone Smile My name is Helen & I live on the surrounds of Lake Macquarie in NSW in Carey Bay.

Due to my previous work & my fathers we moved every couple of years..so have lived in Country NSW & Sydney, NorthWest Slopes & Plains, Central West, Upper Hunter, New England Tablelands & then ran away to Far North Queensland to go sailing ...lol Gold Coast & slowly headed back to where we are now ..home ..so full circle.

I have grown roses alongside my parents as a young child, as we have several generations of amateur rose growers so the love was always there ..then I grew them in every housegarden & location no matter what the odds or statistics Wink & now I battle constant salt spray & coastal temps & winds ..lol but I wouldnt have it any other way...

I love photography so if Im not tending the garden Im taking 50million photos...or painting lol

I have just joined the Hunter Valley Rose Society Im on a small block now but have about 100 or so roses plus anything else I can jam in ... Im a little bit "crazy" as I love to follow the principles by Moon Gardening Bio Dynamics & organic methods all mixed up ... ...but I Love to learn !! ..so am quite excited to find likeminded people who like to share their love & knowledge of roses ..
.So Thank you David & Im really looking forward to chatting to everyone else soon Cheers

Hi Helen, welcome to the forum! We all love our roses here and drool over all the pix posted. This of course leads to the debilitating condition of Rose Envy. Lol. I look forward to seeing photos of your roses (100? Wow!) and garden and learn more about your gardening techniques. I love learning new things but I'm a bit (ha!) erm....lazy. Love my roses though
