"Rouge Royale", as I knew it in the US, picked up an avid if small fan base almost immediately after it was released there, early 2000s from memory. The HMF blurb says it was released in France in 2005, so the US release apparently preceded the French one.

Unfortunately, I don't care for its form - looks a bit flat to me. I would be curious to see how it stacks up against Munstead Wood, though

okay folks

fathers love, I have several at work , very nice rose and the perfume is rather nice too .. there are few things that has stopped me from getting one

it does get a bit of blackspot so I spray it at work every week , another the blooms burn rather quickly in the hot sun , and unfortunately they ball in the rain

Hi Doug, I am a "disliker" of 'Iceberg". This comes back to my post about "show" roses. This rose "might" be a good rose in it's class.

Fabulous is well on the way of taking the mantle of best white floribunda for the show bench from White Spray.

As far as Iceberg goes I think Seduction has similar qualities and is a far better rose.

Another outstanding white rose bred by one of the great American breeders Keith Zary. Other outstanding roses bred by Zary include Veterans Honour, Pope John Paul II, Gemini, Diana Princess of Wales, Fame, Timeless, Baby Boomer & Hot Tamale.

For my purposes, it wouldn't work, sadly, with only one main flush.

Just think Betsy a vase of it and any other fragrant rose you have the perfume would be to die for.

Dan, have you seen it growing at all ?

Great fun for those who love novelty roses! For me,it ticks all the wrong boxes: the high thorn count, the well-documented fast blow of the flowers and the lack of scent.

"Latte" colour? Shoot the barista. It's more the colour of my mother's old pancake makeup.

I notice that Swanes has a few great roses on sale, and I'm thinking that I can't pass up their Pope John Paul II this year.

Ah, what a wordsmith, betsyw. I will never think of latte coloured roses in the same way again. Not after your description of pancake makeup!!!  Razz
