One Solitary Rose!

Post by bluethumb on 16th June 2013, 17:38

Hi,

I hope one of you experts can help me. I planted a Pierre de Ronsard (Red Pierre) climbing rose a few months ago where I live in Perth. Since then itís produced only one rose. Itís in a large planter box in a mixture of sand and potting mix. Iíve also fertilized it with slow release rose fertilizer. The plant is very healthy, as was the rose it produced. I also planted an Iceberg about the same time and it's prolific!

Is it just the time of year or am I perhaps doing something wrong?

Thanks for listening.

Bluey

Just the time of the year I reckon and because it is newly planted. Pierre de Ronsard is prolific in blooming and a beautiful†climbing rose.

Hi Neptune!

I'm in Perth which, I'm told, has a great climate for growing roses. As I said earlier, the Iceberg I†planted is blossoming prolifically, so I can't wait for the Pierre de Ronsard to bloom!

Cheers.
