Some good news

Post by Guest on 31st May 2013, 05:44

Finally it has happened, budwood of 53 cultivars of my roses now sits in Belgium awaiting budding. This feels like a part of an incredible journey is halfway there with a lot more opportunities still waiting. It took from this Tues untill Thursday to get there , incredible.

That's good news Warren. Are any of the Australian nurseries trialing your roses at the moment?

Thanks Doug, no one in this country was interested thats why when I given the opportunity to go to Europe I grabed it with both hands. I have roses in the trial garden in Adelaide though.

Warren that is disappointing to say the least. On the topic of breeding recently I had the opportunity of spending sometime with Tom Carruth the American hybridizer who has bred 13 AARS rose since 1997 and I found him very interesting.

Hi everybody !
Today is a great day because Warren's buds are now in Europe ready for grafting.
Warren, our dream is going to come true so quickly ♥
I've learned today that End of August I'll be able to see the first flowers and most of all, to smell their perfume. You can imagine how an exciting moment it will be !
I'll even be able to plant some of them in my own garden in December; how incredible !
Bruno, Daniel and I have great ideas to promote your roses and you can be sure that they will become famous and not only in Belgium.
I would also like to thank this forum for making that possible and especially Neptune for posting all those photos of Warren's work (and Osboy for making me come back here).
Cheers,
Isabelle

Warren

We are all hoping for a great result and somebody in the Australian Horticulture Industry to notice what great work you have been doing.

And for that glowing reference you owe me.

There is a lot Doug, I spent the whole day down in Melbourne. They went through Quarantine with big ticks and it looks like no trouble over there as well. There is a bit of paperwork to do with a few other things as well. As I said to the AQIS fellow next time it will be easier once you done it. Looks like you could call me a rose exporter now
