This rose was extensively used in the breeding programme of Frank Riethmuller.

The red rose is the Hybrid Musk "Nur Mahal"(thanks Balinbear). The ferny foliage belongs to a beautiful plant of R Roxburghiii aka The Chestnut Rose. Unfortunately this year we had no hips to display as the prolonged wet weather caused them to rot and fall from the bush.
Here is a picture from a previous occasion. The hips are about the size of a large walnut.
