Hi all ........

had a friend who moved from here to Port Douglas and wants to grow roses there.

Can someone please suggest the best ones for that area, so that I can pass it on please..........

John that is where Gary sent all his Balinese palms. lol! Only joking. Are they on the coast or a bit inland. I think if we go the same way we did with Deb, try the Latitude idea and transfer it to the northern hemisphere.

It is tropical and a seaside town. Tea roses and some of the better performers in humidity would do well. The roundelay roses probably. Knockouts, lots of spraying for most Hybrid teas I should imagine and in a true wet season that can be very difficult. We have relatives in Cairns and occasionally you see roses in gardens and they don't look any worse than the usual suspects you see down here.
