Maree, I wouldn't buy one at this stage, write in your diary to contact me this time next year. If it's vigorous and does everything right then I'll let you have one or graft one for you.

David I'm out of trees, fences and all things to hang climbers on. You may notice my roses are getting smaller for easy care. You can send me some 'Buccaneer' budwood if you like as I over sold the last lot and have nothing left.

First rose I ever bought was Peace and it died. I was told later how it used to be good but went downhill for the reason's Ozeboy mentioned...

I have ordered :

THE R S L ROSE
ST. PATRICK
OKLAHOMA
BLACK CAVIAR

I lost 4 with all the rain we had, so these will fit in their places very nicely Smile Contemplating potting some of them too.

Some are slower than others Rosy. You have to have patience. I think more with roses than most other plants but you will be rewarded in the end.

I always have trouble once I move a rose, unless it is from pot to pot. Don't think I have ever been successful even in Winter Sad

Maree, haven't forgotten you are looking for DJ. I have only two plants both 3 to 5 years old. They may be too large for you, One to two year old plants are better. If one of these don't work out will graft one for you. DJ is an ideal climber for a smaller situation, the fragrance is
extremely nice and very strong. If you have a pergola just inside your front gate then one DJ either side makes a great show.

There's 45,000 roses listed on HMF and I grow just over 200, Makes it difficult to have them available all the time.

Ozeboy, do you have Friendship? I was so smitten at Swane's by this 1978 daughter of Fragrant Cloud . I would of course buy it from them out of loyalty if they carried it, but I think from searching the site that Friendship is a legacy rose in the old beds.

Do you, Teesh???? If it's this one, luckyluckylucky you. It just stood out in the Swane's landscape. The mega-blooms made Parole look like a mini ;-)

That's the one! The flowers are almost hot pink with an amazing scent. Really long canes and huge flowers!

Exactly, Teesh, exactly as I perceived it!!!! Great bright colour pink, too, not bubblegummy, strong but not too shrill, nor too Barbie , but sort of graded/shaded pinks.

Where has this one gone? My god, when you think of all the boring old stuff that survives and also the dull stuff that is coming onto the market, I wish they would re-name and relaunch this baby.

I found this rose in the most random nursery. I have never been back because it closed down. The flowers are exceptional .. Never seen anything like them. The canes are so long, it's almost a climber?
