More rose cuttings

Post by orchid40 on 5th February 2009, 18:03

I've just let the success of 3 or 4 cuttings go to my head. I potted up 30 more today. Only my favourites and ones I wouldn't mind more of!
I'm crazy though, there's nowhere to put them.............................
LOL

That's not crazy Val... that's awesome! You could make some extra pocket money from them to buy more roses Smile

I'm starting to get carried away too! I've got the outside loo (it has a skylight facing south) stacked with cuttings in bottles covered with plastic.
There is a cute little country summer market started up 10k from us that will be the ideal venue for my 'budding' foray into the retail world next summer!
I'll probably make a lot of new friends too in the process. flower

Hi Val, Dreidre and Thee. Open days at people's gardens are a good place to sell ownroot roses , well I am talking from only the experience of one Open garden.
I have 84 bottles with rose cuttings that have calloused, the earlier ones have little roots now.
I have started doing the slanted cut behind the bud that Ralph Moore worked out was better for hard to root roses but it looks strange to see this cut on my cuttings. When I see the callouses develop there easily I reckon I will get use to it real quick.
