Glad you asked. Yes, definitely a children's corner. There are wimpy thornless roses, of course, like the Smooth Touch series. But wouldn't it be more educative to throw the kiddies in with Mermaid and the cherokee rose, and teach them the value of a tetanus shot?

For a fun interactive experience, how about an exploding rose? "Hey kids, just clap your hands in front of this pretty Friesia. Woooo! Aw Faw Down!"

More educative stuff: "The Fungus Among Us" featuring Angel Face and JFK and a cast of thousands; Could throw in someroses blighted with witches' broom to demonstrate the indiscriminate malice of bio-chemicals.

But say, I hear that those clever folks at Suntory are working on a rose called "Standing Ovation". Has self- splicing dna that converts the bush into a karaoke machine. What'll they think of next, eh?

Queen Adelaide's name is Meivildo. It was bred by Meillands in the early eighties.
