I grow Angela Rose Taylor - a 2001 floribunda which was named by the Victorian Police in honour of this young constable who was killed in the Russell Street bombing. The rose is Australian bred by Mr Smith and is a seedling floribunda of the rose Hannah Gordon aka Raspberry Ice. Today I went out to look at my roses and this is what I found. It looks like the green rose.

Is this a virus? Could it be from Condy's Crystals, Thrive, Confidor combo which I sprayed last week. There are over 70 roses in this garden bed and none of them look like that. In fact, they are looking the best they have looked in many, many years. We are not affected by the devastating bushfires nor the extremely hot days a lot of you are having to weather and sweat out at present.[img][/img]

Rod Hultgren who is an ABC Southern Qld presenter and a friend states on the ABC website - for black spot......Condy's Crystals is another good one. About a teaspoon in a bucket of water. It's fairly purple, so keep it away from any of your white roses that are showing colour, because it will splash on those. Remember, it's a fungicide as well as an insecticide, so you can use that on aphids as well."
My recipe of Condy's with Confidor (for black beetles) Thrive has not been used before. But I am getting beautiful blooms all around this bush. I wonder if it is a mutation? It certainly would not be a saleable sport! The flower size is about that of a twenty cent coin. In google images there is a very good likeness to my normal Angela Rose Taylor blooms.

Bonita, is it possible that you have sprayed glyphosate (round up) near this rose?

No I did not spray anything like glysophate near the bush. I did check with my mate as he is known to like waving wands around like a fairy godmother. Any weed trembles in this garden when he is around!

The rest of the bush looks really healthy so we will wait and see if this happens again!
