Off to China

Post by Guest on 9th December 2012, 16:16

Tomorrow I head off to Southern China for 4 days . This is the event which I have been invited to. Imagine comming across a valley like this when strolling through the mountains.

As the 5th Sanya International Rose Festival is scheduled to be held on December 12th this year, the city is striving to develop its rose industry by building Yalong Bay International Rose Valley into an international ‘rose town’ in the near future.

Built in June 2009, the Yalong Bay Rose Valley is the largest flower plantation base in Sanya, featuring 1,200 types of roses. It has since become a charming icon of Sanya’s agricultural leisure tourism.

The golf course isn't bad either in the background.

Please try to log here in at least once while you're at Yalong Bay, and give us a small taste of the events and your impressions. Will be fascinating, I know.

Thanks all, I hoping to come back with a bit more knowledge and material to work with as well.

The itinerary is full on for the four days while over there, I think we have about 6 hrs free time only for that period.

Have a fantastic time Ozroz and take lots of photos if you can. Hope they are blown away with your roses too. That valley looks amazing! Hard to imagine that many roses. Golf course looks pretty good too, lots of bunkers

Warren, looks like a great place for anyone interested in roses.

Take notes along the way as we will be looking for a detailed report when you return. Your skill with a camera will come in very handy.

Have a great time and watch what you eat and drink.

Post by Guest on 16th December 2012, 19:30

yep the time went to fast, Carole the room was great , great big kingsize bed with marble bathroom, private pool outside the front windowto use. Iam banqueted out, as the food was so great, really different than what you get here in resturants here in OZ. For a socialistic country, there is a lot of big of investment going on , lots of Mercedes and BMW driving around as well.

Learnt a great deal while over there, as I met up with not only people from Asia but vast Europeans as well, had a great insight where the rose industry is going in Europe and the rest of the world.

Made a lot of contacts as well and probably have a few emails waiting when I get home tomorrow.

Is he? How sensational! (Or are you erferring amusinglt to teh rose backdrop)

Warren, you are some good-lookin' fella. So gald you had a yeasty time at Sanya, and were rightly honoured with an invite,

I confess the place looks rather Great Leap Forward to me. The workers spraying the roses, wearing masks and against a backdrop oif grim filmy aiir, is disturbing.

I think you will find the water sprinklers on in the fore ground/back ground and the workers are raking up the ground of leaves
