Havachat... using the chat function.

Post by Simon on 17th January 2009, 11:53 pm

Many of you know there is a chat function located at the bottom of the main page. You arrive and check it out and it tells you whether there is anyone there. Finding someone there can be hit-and-miss so this forum is for people to shout out that they are in Chat NOW and are dying to chat roses with someone.

OR....

You can schedule a chat here and say that you will be online at such and such a time and date and if anyone else would like to join in they can do so at the agreed time.

AND...

You can even post a topic of discussion for a scheduled chat... for instance you might schedule a propagatin chat and ask for people who have experience in budding roses to join for a chat to help you out with a few things... If you'd like to chat now then click here

One other thing... remember that the chat function keeps an archive of discussions so if you don't want people to see what you're previous discussions were about then you might want to be careful what you say LOL

Hi karen... I doubt you will find a time and a place that will suit everyone. e.g. I'm on holidays right now and once I go back to work I won't be popping in quite so often and will find it hard to schedule a time. That's why I thought it would be a good idea to just put a notice up here when people feel like having a chat or would like to talk to someone real-time about something that is bugging them (or their roses) as the need arises.

I might be able to turn the archiving function off... I haven't found it yet but will keep looking.
