Spanish Lady

Post by Bonita18 on 25th June 2012, 19:32

I grow Spanish Lady which I purchased from Trewallyn'snursery in Bundaberg. Does anyone know this red and black striped rose by another name perhaps? I cannot find it in Modern Roses 11 so wondered if it is an Aussie bred rose. I once had the chance to go to a bull fight in Madrid. I was not kneen to go and on the way there I spotted a beautiful pair of red leather shoes with high black heels. I said to my husband that I would rather buy the shoes with the money. I am glad I did as he could not stomach the bull fight and left early but I enjoyed many happy years of wearing my spanish shoes. When I walk past my Spanish Lady bush I think of that day. We all grow roses for various reasons and that is just one of my reasons.
