Well, Well it seems as though we have a little code rivalry here, I am 100% an avid Saints fan in the AFL (The true footy code of Aus),However I do enjoy watching the storm beat the teams from N.S.W and QLD at their own game lol.
A bit of job description:
I started at Rankins as an apprentice in 1996 as an 18 Y.0 and have worked in all facets of our business over those 16years, I am now in charge of our sales and Marketing area.
I also have a bit to do with choosing our new varieties that we import and test in The Aus. growing climate for performance and disease resistance.

Hi Brad, I'm the resident stirrer to keep this forum alive and well. Simon put so much time and effort into getting this forum going, would be a shame to see it falter. I have two caps, the first is a passionate hobby grower, propagater and breeder of the healthiest roses I can find. I take little notice of health claims from the southern part of the continent and west of the blue mountains. My roses have to be very healthy in heat and humidity which is one of the reasons I have quite a few Tea roses. A lot of my time is spent researching via Help me Find Roses.com You can probably guage from this I am not an impulse buyer of roses with pretty blooms at nurseries or shown on sites and in colour brochures. Good roses that produce hips are on the top of my wish list. I treat new PBR release roses with great suspicion having seen so many claimed to be the greatest turn into duds.
Would you happen to have one or more roses to the above.
Please don't advise me to grow cactus in beds edged with smooth river stones as this is a genuine inquiery.

The second cap is having a small boutique nursery that operates without a site, brochure or sign on the front gate. Basically it's an enjoyable passtime in retirement. I have been propagating roses for over 30 years and bud any time, winter is not uncommon if the buds are available.

Welcome to the Forum I'm sure everyone will enjoy your input.

David

Just heard a news flash. Some of Queensland's Players have suffered injuries from the weekend.

They all fell off their chairs laughing when the read who was in the NSW team!!!

No serously the games are usually reasonably cloose and good Rugby League is played. I do think NSW needs to win this year to keep interest going. I do think it will be tough though.

Brad, sometimes threads get stollen, sometimes they get returned to the original, I think this one might get mixed or we might make one for the time of "State of Origin".
That will keep the Qld(cane toads inline) lol!

Brad, check your email account, should be one there from me.

Welcome Brad, and never mind that football whistling past your ear, dish us some dirt on the rose world!

I know that Rankins are tight with Delbards, but any chance you could sneak into Weeks and import some Twilight Zones? Early accounts and first blooms reports are divine, what Ebb Tide should have been. Probably all tied up in exclusivity Oz rights already, but thought I'd ask.

Hi all
Firstly thank you for your welcome to this forum may be a good omen in joining the forum as since then the saints are playing some good footy!!!
Betsyw - had a look at TZ rose looks great and is in fact on trial as we speak in aust conditions, reports so far are quite good - flower strong in colour growth habit looks ok but really need a 2 year old plant to gauge properly so will know more about that around Christmas.

Brad, without giving to much away, is TZ only being trialed at your nursery or in other locations to suit Oz conditions(humidity).
