Bonita, I am totally envious of your beautiful and spacious garden! How proud you must be of it and rightly so. Clap

10 members have placed thier CV/Resumes out of 124 registered users, not a good response is it Rita. Mine is an open book. To be honest Rita I have been sitting back to see how many starters you recieved, If the rain lets up over the weekend I will have to spray(fungicide) our grapes and also 'mark' 200 hundred lambs(dorper crosses) with the boss. Mine will appear over the weekend as a living autobiography, Regards David.

P.S. Answers will be given if asked

I wouldn't exactly call 800 plus views "not a good response" David (M). What has been asked for is a bit of a 'Bio' & a photo from forumers. A resume or CV, which are clearly not relevant here.

As stated at the onset, my aims for publishing this post were to "create a nicer atmosphere and heighten peoples sense of forum community, belonging and mutual respect", and I thought "it would also add to making this forum an even friendlier place than it already is".

I had no idea some people where sitting back expecting this post to be a "non-starter".
Forgive me for bothering to inject some life, interest and ownership through this post. Sad

Rita
I was one of those prepared to be seen! I think it was a great idea and I have really enjoyed reading bios and seeing faces of other members. It is easy to become disconnected from others as we sit at our computers. We are REAL people who 'take time to smell the roses'together. Thank you Rita.

Many members protect their real names on websites, which are very public. It's not surprising that they may wish to protect other aspects of their privacy.

Rita, these kinds of posts are the type of post that stay around for a long time. Sometimes they run hot. Other times they barely register a hit, but they invariably get up and running again once somebody replies. I don't think people were sitting back expecting it to fail. I certainly wasn't. I like to hang back and watch these kinds of posts develop before I do anything on them. I don't like to jump in straight away to play the admin card as I feel it can sometimes put others off. Most of the time the Admin needs to take a back seat and just let things happen. Then, after the post has been going for a while and people have made their posts, then I might jump in with something relevant. I don't like putting my bio up because I feel like that too puts people off because my bio is a bit heavy in the academic side of things. So... for now I am watching and enjoying seeing the faces behind the people who help to make this website great.

Bruce, your photo is already on here... I can re-post it here if you wish.

On the privacy thing... would people rather I set up a members gallery section that is not viewable by the general public? It would only be viewable by registered members when they are logged in.

Simon
Yes I agree with the members only section.

I delibratly left my qualifications out as they do not have anything to do with Roases.

You gentics involvement is probably a different thing but I am sure "high school teacher" would be all we all needed to know. I put myself in as a surveyor but in reality I do very little surevying but my business is involved in it.
