Re: My rose gardens...
I feel pretty good about it all... I've managed that in 2 and a half years... so in another 18 years or so I reckon it will be getting close to how I want it...

Re: My rose gardens...
I've been suffering from stress related health issues... it really messes you up... big wake up call to back things off 10 notches or so. Today was a good day and I got a huge amount of clearing and weeding done as well as a whole lot of mulching. Things are looking pretty good. Will be into it again tomorrow.

Hope you are feeling better. I went through a similar bout start of last year. Still hits me every now and again but the family and the garden certainly help me.

Re: My rose gardens...
Weeding is a great therapy too , great for doing a work out on frustrations and temper as you belt the dirt off the clods .
Of weeds.
If it's time to chill out , take heed.
It's better to be growing roses than be pushing up daisies.
cheers. Rosalie

Re: My rose gardens...
My only tree peony has hit full bloom
Each of those flowers is a good 20-30cm across! It keeps getting bigger every year too...

And my Mt Fuji flowering cherry is in full blossom too... you just never know what you might find in it either

Stunning Simon. What delightful things you find in your cherry trees:)
You're going to get more tree peonies, right!?

Re: My rose gardens...
I think so... I have quite a few herbaceous peony but this one makes such an impressive display each year... it's funny too because the first year we were here it was floppy and stingy with its flowers... then I cut it back to the ground and fixed it up with a bit of tlc and it hasn't looked back. It's a bit too good now. I'm going to have to relocate two roses that are being consumed by it now.
