Blue for You and Beyond Blue

Post by Bonita18 on 31st July 2011, 19:46

Blue for You is a fantastic floribunda in my garden. I wonder if Beyond Blue is a sport of this rose.
I see that there is also a rose called Eyes for You with R Hulthemia in its breeding. Is it available in Australia.

BTW - did you buy 'Beyond Blue'. It's not coming up on HMF. Probably a renamed rose for the Australian market. If you bought it, have a look on the label and see if the registered name is on there.

Hi everyone, I know this is an old post but it came up when I googles 'Beyond Blue'. I just purchased one today and wondered if anyone can tell me anything about it? Not much online ..

Treloars have it and what I have read it was named for the cause as Simon has posted earlier. You could contact them or go through the PBR site.

I will do Smile It only has 1 flower at the moment and it's so pretty, and smells lovely. What a lovely tribute. They sell potted ones at Hawkins in Brisbane if you are ever near there. There were a couple left.

Note... 'Blue for You' has no hulthemia breeding in it anywhere.

Simon, does that mean you can't strike from it?

no... it just means 'Eye's for 'You' is not in its pedigree. Its active PBR means you can't strike from it (http://pericles.ipaustralia.gov.au/pbr_db/plant_detail.cfm?AID=6112181) Wink
