Portal pictures

Post by roseman on 13th May 2011, 7:24 am

Morning all, I am having lessons over the weekend of how to change the 'members picture of the month'.
Has anyone got suggestions of how often this should change ?
The other thing, does anyone not want thier pictures posted on the 'portal page'

Any chance of adding the name of the rose underneath the picture?

How often it would change , would probably depend on how many pictures you have......if you have a say 52 p[ictures, then you could change once a week........if you only have 12...then once a month......

Neptune, I think it would be nice to have the name of the rose if it is available and also the name of the person that posted the picture.
Something like
Carole's Peace Rose
Or
Carole's unknown Rose.
Or even
New seedling grown by Carole.

There are enough pictures from what I can see to change the pictures weekly.

I think you would find that there would be enough photo's to change the pic every 12 hours ! Laughing
Ditto comments about name of rose and contributor of photo.

cheers. Rosalie

I agree Rosalie,
but I think if David changes the photo' once a week it will be enough.

I have had lesson's, still learning, but we have a new rose for now. As you can see it is Lyn's(florabunda's) night shot of 'Papa M'.
When I practice some, it will change. There will be no order of how this is done, all will get a go, some how. So if you have some rose pictures and can ad them in the place they are to go(gallery) please add them as all will get a go with permission of owner.

If any has noticed we have a new portal page. As asked by other members it is Dee's 'New Dawn'. Not sure when it was taken, but it is magnificent. Dee is one half of Bill&Dee and they hail from Tasmania.

Magnificent. I'm sick with envy. NSW from the sandstone curtain east just can't do that with New Dawn...or any other rose for that matter. I have ND in the Blue Mountains and love it but I can't get anything like that volume of bloom.

New Dawn was a failure for us as well.

Not a failure for me, Balinbear. Just very second best to Dee's example.

I had a (non rose) friend who grew ND to perfection in a garden not far from me some years ago. Mine languished for some years, then bloomed her head off, then went to God. Replaced her with a Shiraz grapevine which I had to leave behind Sad
