Freebies from me
I have some small rose bushes grown on their own roots to share around.
In pots I have Yellow Banksia, Friesia, Iceberg,Remember Me. They look a bit tatty but will pick up quickly in the ground.I have truckload of pink ground covers.
In the ground I have Sally Holmes, Baronne E. de Rothchild, and unregistered orange blend I call Centenary 150 and one Childrens Rose.

Re: Freebies from me
When you say unregistered orange blend... what do you mean? Was it a seedling that someone gave you or you raised yourself??? What's it like? Got any pics?
I have a few plants to give away too... I have two plants of 'The Fairy', one plant of 'Christopher Marlowe', and one plant of 'Leda'. BD, your plant of CM is going in the mail this week. Will also have 2 or 3 plants of Cherokee Rose to give away in around March so if you'd like to reserve them you can. Will also reserve the others until winter if people would prefer.
BD, do you reckon you could put a stem or two of Dainty Bess in the mail for me to take budwood from pleeeeeease? I don't think that one you sent me is going to make it.

I have put a pic of Centenary 150 in my gallery for you to look at. The flower is only a medium size for an ht but it would have to be about the brightest orange and yellow rose I have, and I have a few because orange is my favourite colour.
Tas, does Cherokee keep its leaves in winter? How long does it bloom for?
I will gladly send you some Dainty Bess budwood. It is still flowering so the buds are too immature yet but as soon as they are ready I will send you some cuttings. Thanks for CM.

Re: Freebies from me
WOW WOW WOW!!! That orange is smoking hot! If you are giving away a plant of this I WOULD LOVE IT!!!!
The Cherokee is a bit of a test down here. I am not sure how well it will cope with the cold. I have one larger plant and 4 cuttings that have taken. It flowers for a very short time unfortunately but when it does WOW... you only get 2-3 weeks out it. The buds all mature at once and seem to open all at once and cover the bush. It grows HUGE but I think it looks best when pruned savagely down to a large shrub where it will flower all over from top to bottom. If you'd like to try it I'll gladly send you a small plant but you'll need to grow it on in your big greenhouse to start with. It will appreciate the extra warmth until it's larger when you can start to harden it off. Let me know what you decide. It's only just formed roots so will still be very fragile.

How does France Libre, 1981 Delbard, sound as a possible ID for your centenary 150?

Not bright enough!
Also C150 is more like a ht.I'll send you one, in the pot, with the DB cuttings.
Tas, is Christopher M pink or orange? I ask because all the descriptions say "Orange" but all the pics in HMF show pink.
I would like to try Cherokee Rose sometime when you want to let it go. Wait until winter when it is dormant. If you have not yet sent CM and you are not inconvencienced by holding onto it until winter as well then it might handle the trip better?

Re: Freebies from me
France Libre is an HT
Christopher Marlowe starts out a pinky orange that changes to pink with age. It's more of a blend of orange/pink/yellow.
I got held up this week getting CM out to you... but will do it asap. I think it will travel just fine. Same with the cherokee rose... you'll just have to pot them up till next season. You CM is about to flower actually (tiny weeny little bud... so sad

Re: Freebies from me
I have been looking at pics of Jubilee 150 on HMF and I think what ol' Les told me was wrong. I think I have Jubilee 150 not Centenary 150. Maybe he had a senior moment although I remember him declaring vehemently that it was NOT Jubilee 150!
I will call it Jubilee 150 from now on.
Have a look on HMF and compare the pics there with my pics please?

Re: Freebies from me
I had a quick look and it looks a good match. It's always hard to ID roses from photos but the name clues are more helpful (like your 'Cockade' did you see my reply to that one???).
Re: Freebies from me
Billndee, could I please have the own root you have of Remember Me and The Children's Rose, if they are not already taken.
Tasv, I would love the Leda and a Cherokee, if you have one or bothe of theses left ? If not, then maybe in the future.
I feel bad because we can't sent you something back in return because of your import laws, other than the postage. So can I buy them off you or send you a box of chocolates if they are under patent ?

Hi Rosemeadow in Gulgong
I will be very happy to send you those two roses. Could I wait until winter to send them to you? I feel they would suffer If I bare rooted them now and subjected them to NSW heat!! I have Remember Me in a pot but The Childrens Rose is in the ground in a nursery bed.
PM me with your postage details. Just send me some stamps after you have received the roses if you feel so inclined. Then I can use them for the next postage job.

Hi Karen,
I have sent the cherokee and the Leda off already but will try and remember to put some in for you when I next get the opportunity. I'll put in an Anemone for you as well (pink cherokee) which is so beautiful
Leda suckers a bit so I am looking out for suckers that I can dig up. I've had a bit of trouble striking cuttings from this one.
