Hello everyone

Our names are Andrew and Jane and we live in Canberra. We are new to roses but are very keen and are already planning and preparing our garden. We have joined the local Horticultural Society and even attended the November Rose Show Very Happy

Welcome, Andrew & Jane. It is good to see a new member that does come to the forum once thier account has been activated, some do not for some reason. Tell us/me more of the love of the rose and the rest of your garden as you say it is in the planning/preparing stage.
Do you have a style of rose that you like, for example, old fashioned, David Austin or others. Wave

Hi from W.A. This is a good place for a novice rose grower to spend some time . Be warned though.
It's been said once and will be said again .....
Rose growing is an addiction. Laughing

Hi Andrew and Jane,
welcome to the forum.
Roses by themselves aren't addictive, but if you joined the forum, it's too late - you're already addicted.
Sorry about that.

Canberra is home of the Old Parliament House rose gardens. This is one of the places I will really have to visit some day. Andrew and Jane, if ever you visit these gardens, could you please take some photos of the heritage roses? I want to get down there some day to see what their Hume's Blush and Park's Yellow look like in the Macarthur Garden. I have emailed OPH about these roses in the past, but sadly they have never replied. I guess they receive a lot of emails.

Hi everyone and thank you for the warm welcome. I am looking foward to spending some time looking through previous posts and gaining some knowledge.

Thge Old Parliament House Rose gardens are only a short walk from my work at and I have spend a few lunch hours enjoying them lately. There is the link to dowload the guide.
