Hello from germany
Hello to everyone on Rose Talk Australia.
I enjoyed browsing this forum so I might as well join you
My favourite roses are those of old fashioned looks, and specially the nicely scented ones. Since 2004 I have been growing roses from seed. I did some hybridizing, however most seedlings are op.
We have winter here and it has been very cold. Fortunately we had also a lot of snow; so no rose activities just now.
Wait and see how the roses survived. Some of my seedlings are in pots and if they survive they must be truly hardy
Have a nice Sunday Ulrike

Re: Hello from germany
Welcome Greenlife, your comment re freezing conditions turned my thoughts to a rose I have called 'Arctic Flame' bred by Brownell family who are famous for breeding hardy roses. I am going to check how it grows in heat hoping it is hardy at both ends of the temperature scale. Might just be a snow rose.

Re: Hello from germany
David,
you did not write which words, I assume it's the 'Bodensee'. That must be a funny word in your ears, it' not a puddle, it's the German meaning for the Lake Constance
the oz lingo for that

Bernhard, the other one is "Ulrike". Bodensee was the other and thanks for the translation of it.

Nope.. sorry... I think we would need to be logged in to be able to see it. We have an image hosting system here if you would like to use it or you can email the images to me at s.a.voorwinde@bigpond.com and I'll post them for you

Re: Hello from germany
Hi Simon
did send two Pictures to you
Just checked the link I gave above: I logged out of Australian Rosetalk and of the other forum as well. For me the link worked. I used the function "open in new window" and the picture came up.
Cheers Ulrike

Re: Hello from germany
I have just looked at the link Ulrike gave in her post and it worked OK for me.
Ulrike could you supply the crosses of your roses or the names that they come from. Are the fluorescent lights normal or grow lights. The seedlings look very healthy. I hope they all survive for you and then we will see some wonderful flowers.
