Wonderful pictures David, you must have had a great holiday.
Pity we can't grow these roses up the East Coast of Australia.

Re: Wisley & Sissinghurst...
Can be a mixed blessing... especially if you have to go to work every day instead of being able to enjoy it. I need to stop work so I can fully appreciate my acres. I would like enough time just to be able to mow the lawn

Simon
I agree. It good to have the land (and I would hate to move back into town) but the time it takes to do thing like mow the grass (3 hours) attack the weeds etc can be a bit of a pain.

Re: Wisley & Sissinghurst...
Yeah... 3 hours here stretches into a whole day... it's hilly and I only have a push mower.. my ride-on can't make it up the hills... thinking of selling up actually and getting some flat ground instead of this mountain goat country.

Re: Wisley & Sissinghurst...
Thanks Simon and everyone for your comments. Only just catching up - been sick for a couple of weeks.
Sissinghurst has 5 gardeners and Wisley would have dozens.
I have two acreages to look after and they're both out of control (at least I get paid for one of them:) And I'm about to pay big bucks to get our own place cleaned up!
