An early HT for you...

Post by Simon on 13th December 2009, 10:17 pm

This is a new one for me... an early (1916) McGredy HT called 'Golden Emblem'. According to HMF it is fertile both ways with more than 2000 descendants. Flowers are enormous. This plant was sourced from Ladybird Roses last winter. Plant is planted below the graft and is throwing long straight strong canes. Blooms one-to-a-stem. So far looks pretty healthy. Some blackspot but not as much as one might expect for an early yellow-based HT. Time will tell if it loses some of its resistance.

Very nice Simon !
In the future, perhaps you could send me some budwood , when I have the buding technique working for me.
