Forum software 'glitch'

This announcement is for those people who use Internet Explorer, who have their windows updates set on automatic, and who have also downoaded and installed the recent upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 (IE8). This problem does not affect those users using browers such as Firefox or Safari.

The Problem: When posting a new topic if you type more than can fit within the field provided the cursor, and any new typing, seems to disappear off the bottom edge. Any attempt to use the scroll bar on the side to go to the end of the topic will not work and the scrollbar will jump back, almost to the top of the text field. The programmers tell me this is a software incompatibility between the forum software and the new IE8 brower software and that they will try to address these, and other problems in the near future.

The Solution: If you have upgraded your browser to IE8 you will see an icon next to your address bar that activates a new feature called 'Compatility View'. This allows webpages to be viewed as they would have been using IE7. This was put in to allow website programmers to catch up with the new requirements and still retain functionality of their websites. Once changes are made the changes shold be implemented seamlessly and this function can be disabbled again with no loss of functionality. I'm not sure if they will alert me of these changes or not but if they do I will pass this information on.
